Father’s Day Card Making (Part IV)

Today, we come to the final stage of the father's day card making. How fortunate that I started earlier for this art work, it took us about four days to complete it bit by bit. Today, I brought in some ladyfingers and winged beans for the children to do some colourful printing on their card. Besides that, I had also made about 12 holes on each of the paper plate for the children to put in the golden thread as the paper plate was meant to be hung up.

So we started off we 2 children at a time, they had a choice to choose either to use ladyfingers or winged beans or both of it. I thought the ladyfingers would give a very good shape. However, some of the children said they didn't get the print out of the ladyfingers clearly and it was just a patch of water paint. I encouraged them to try out the winged beans instead as it gives a "H" shape. For those who used winged beans were quite satisfied with the outcome of it.

Once everyone had their printing done, I gave each of them a golden thread which I had prepared earlier. I demonstrate how to start with it. Some children could catch it fast while some needed some help. This time round, many of those children who managed to get their thread done, volunteered to help the others. I just needed to guide them along at the side.

When all the parts had been done, the children kept saying that they would put in their bag and only give it to their father on Sunday. I'm glad that the children like the art work.

Happy Father's Day! Hopefully you will like the children's art!
