Art & Craft - The Bus (water paint)

Happy, Happy Transportation – Art & Craft – Bus (water paint)

Just right before we start our art and craft session, I found another 2 songs about bus to share with the children. The first song is “Down at the bus stop”. It is to be sung with the tune of “Down by the station”. Since the children knew the song rhythms, so it’s much easier for them to follow this time. The lyrics are as followed:

Down at the bus stop

Early in the morning

See the little children

Lined up in a row

See the yellow school bus

Picked up all the children

Vroom, vroom, vroom, vroom,

Off they go. 

I also shared another song with the children – “We’re riding on the bus”. This song is sung with the tune of “If you are happy and you know it”.

The lyrics of the song are as followed:

Oh, we’re riding on the bus, on the bus

Oh, we’re riding on the bus, on the bus

Oh, we’re riding on the bus,

Come and ride along with us,

Oh, we’re riding on the bus, on the bus.

When I asked the children to substitute the action with words like singing or dancing, they could come out words like sleeping, eating, sitting. This is a good practice for more action words for the children in the future.

After that, we started off with our water painting of the wheels track. The children painted the wheels of the toy vehicles with the 3 colours (red, blue and green) that I had prepared and they traced the track on the manila card. Everyone was so excited and can’t wait for their turns. We shall decorate the painting with our bus tomorrow.
