Book Sharing – The Very
Hungry Caterpillar
Yesterday some of the children said the
coleslaw was not that tasty and they would like to follow the recipe that I
showed them on you tube. Unfortunately, none of them brought any of the
ingredients that they said they would. Therefore, we moved on with our activity
today.
Today, I had prepared 2 books to share
with the children.
#1 Fruit Salad by
Pelangi
This simple reading book is about a twin
sister who wanted to make fruit salad. Therefore, they mix in fruits such as
banana, mango, papaya, orange, apple etc. However the taste they mixed was not
that good. They decided to put in ice cream and they invited their mother to
try it.
#2 The Very Hungry
Caterpillar by Eric Carle
An egg hatched on a Sunday. Out came to
be a hungry caterpillar. Everyday, from Monday to Saturday, the caterpillar ate
some food. However, those foods didn’t satisfy him and he ate more and more
until he had a stomachache. Finally, he had a piece of leaf on the following
Sunday again and he felt much better. Then he wrapped himself in a cocoon and
turned into a beautiful butterfly after 2 weeks.
I also wanted to share a video of simple
recipe using fruits. After watching the short video, the children would like to
carry out the activity. Therefore, I quickly prepared a short notice for all
parents to gather all the necessary ingredients. Basically we need some banana,
some apples, some cereals and a few yogurts.
We shall carry out this activity on
Thursday, 7th August.
