Group Discussion : What does a doctor do?

Today, we started off with another occupation - doctor. We had a group discussion about the job that a doctor do.

Teacher: Where does a doctor work?
Children: Clinic......hospital.
Teacher: What does a doctor do?
Chloe: Doctor help people to be healthy.
Jing Heng: Doctor give medicine. (I introduced the word - prescribe)
Shang En: Doctor use stethoscope check people's body. Give injection at the hand.
Chloe: Take x-ray.
(other children were repeating the answers given by these three children. )

Then, I asked the children to give me a reason for visiting to the doctor's clinic.
Chloe: coughing, fever, vomit
Devon: flu, catch a cold, allergy
Jing Heng: stomachache

On the other hand, I also introduced some words that they could use when they visit the doctor -
- stomach ache, headache, body ache, sore throat, sore eye, phlegm etc

We might do some sentences making or role play for this "doctor" theme for this week.
