Today, we started off with brainstorming about being a teacher.

We learned the word "teach" first. I explained the meaning of teach and when I added "er" it became a person. The children understand that teacher would be an adult with small kids. Then, I gave example of all type of classes that a person can attend such as art class, cooking class, driving class etc. Those who teach a skill or knowledge to another person will be consider a teacher. This might take a while for the children to understand as their concept about the world is still quite limited.

Then, the children mentioned about English, Mandarin, Malay class etc. Oh, the children do realize about the subject classes that we have here in the kindergarten. Suddenly, some of them started to tell me that they would like to be a Mandarin or an English teacher when they grow up. What a wonderful ambition that would be!
