Taste Bud Test

Taste Bud Test

Today, I prepared 5 cups of water which contain different taste. Unfortunately, I only get to prepare 4 as I couldn't find the vinegar. Therefore, there's only sweet, salty, bitter and spicy taste.

I brought in the 4 cups of water into the class. The children were quite excited and kept asking me what it was. We started off the activity by getting the children to choose which colour cup to start with. Then, each of them were given a small spoon to hold the water. Once they got the water, they could only smell it and guess. Then, when all the children got their share, they all drank it at the same pace.

First, they chose the water with sugar. You could see their face with a big wide smile. Then, they picked the one that I soaked with one small chilli. It was spicy. They rushed to get water after tasting it. However, when they got the water with salt, they smiled again. Lastly was the bitter taste. Some like it while some just kept drinking water after tasting it.

I got all those listed on the board. We shall carry out a "Taste of the Day" activity next week and the children have to decide which taste they wanted to carry out first. Finally, here were the list for "Taste of the Day" activity:
