Things in
Golden (Part II)
Today, some children brought
some golden things to share with their children. They were Wei Ni, Yi Jie, Wei
Lok and Jia Hoong.
We started off with Yi Jie,
he brought 2 golden coins.
Teacher: Yi Jie, what did you
bring? (He grin at me at first before he said anything)
Yi Jie: Coin.
Teacher: Golden coin. It’s a
20-cent golden coin. (He repeated after me.)
Then it’s Jia Hoong’s turn.
He brought quite a few items.
Jia Hoong: This is a peg. (He
was holding a safety pin actually)
Teacher: It’s a safety pin.
Not a peg. (He passed it around for his classmates to have a look at it.)
Jia Hoong: I don’t know what
this is called. (He was holding a red packet that was used during Chinese New
Year.)
Children: Red packet….ang
pow.
Teacher: It’s a red packet or
angpow. You can see the golden writing on it.
Jia Hoong: I have a golden
key. (He also passed it around for his classmates to look at it.)
Jia Hoong: I have 2 golden
coins too.
Wei Lok shyly came out with
his golden colour toy bear.
Wei Lok: This is a golden toy
bear. (Some children argued that it’s not golden colour, it’s a very light
yellow)
Teacher: Wei Lok, did you
know where you get the bear from? Is it your birthday present? Or you got it
from a trip? (He said he doesn’t remember where he got the bear from)
It’s Wei Ni’s turn.
Wei Ni: I don’t know what this is.
Teacher: Let me have a look. Oh, I think this is a token of
appreciation given by the University to Wei Ni’s mother.
Wei Ni: Mommy said I must not lose it.
Teacher: Yes, of course. It’s a very important token for your mom
right?
Wei Ni: Yes.

Sharing – Preschool Power 5 : Little Kids Doing Big Things
Today, we had some time to
play the VCD for the kids to have a look at it. It’s a very interesting video
that shares some colours, some interesting science experiment that kids do and
some of the activities that a kid can help out at home.
