Hippopotamus

By referring to the encyclopedia, we learned that hippopotamus is quite a huge animals. It also can be found in Africa. There are 2 kinds of hippopotamus, pygmy hippo & common hippo. There were some differences in their habitat as well.

We usually looked at the common hippo which loves to be in the water. Besides that, hippo lives in a group and spent most of their time in the water. They were brown in colour with some pinkish skin which act like a sunscreen for hippo. The children had some discussion about sunscreen and they learned the meaning of "crack".

I told the children that we shall watch a video on hippopotamus (if I could find it).
