Float or Sink?

Happy, happy transportation – Float or Sink

Boat floats. Some objects float while some sink. Today, I prepared 4 objects, a stone, a ball, a paper clip and a bottle cap. Before we start, we had a short brief about what is sink and float. Then, the children will predict whether the object will sink or float. This is what we did.

Let's feel the ball. Do you think it will float or sink?

The children were very excited to know that their prediction was correct. As a result, I gave them a task. They have to look for an object. It can be a toy, or any object that they could find in the classroom and predict whether it will sink or float.

The list of object chosen by the children:

Jun Qian – rectangular block

Yu Xi – an orange toy ball

Wei Lok – an arch shape block

Jia Hoong – a toy horse

Wei Ni – triangle block

Phoeon – a triangle block

Jia Jia – a toy elephant

Derek – a train

Yi Jie – a rubber duck toy

Zhen Yuan – a “H” lego

Kern Ee- a lego toy

Kwan Ming – a toy tray

Yi Han – a toy hay bales 

I will try out the ball. 

"A toy horse will sink," said Jia Hoong.

"I got an elephant! Sink or float?"
